Dear Parishioners
One of the most important feast for the Church today is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In it lies the potential for renewal of the Church. Pope Francis says in his first Apostolic Exhortation, Joy of the Gospel: “I want every Christian to renew his or her personal encounter with Jesus Christ every single day.” This calls for a renewal of our hearts so that it may be more like Christ’s.
Our Church needs new heart; our nation needs new heart; our families need new heart; our parish needs new heart; our schools need new heart. We are also very lucky that the other
Parish of this cluster is named after the Sacred Heart. All the more reason to gather in a big way to celebrate this on Friday 8th June – Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – at Sacred Heart Church at 12 noon. I will preside at the Feast Day Mass.
Kindly come and collect the bookmark printed for this special occasion and pray this family prayer for the conversion of families and the salvation of souls. May the Holy Spirit put new heart in us and fill us with fervent anticipation of this Feast Day.
